General Conference Questions

Where will the conference sessions be held?

The conference sessions will be held in Auckland, New Zealand from 13-15 November 2020 at the Grand Millinnium Auckland, 71 Mayoral Drive, Auckland, 1010.

Please Note:
Students need to provide proof of full-time student identification for undergraduate only. Please email your student identification to . If we do not receive your student identification, you will be required to pay the full fee.
• Student delegate registration DOES NOT include any social functions.

What is the dress code for the conference?

During the conference days, smart casual attire is preferred.
For the welcome reception, smart casual attire is recommended and for the Conference Dinner, lounge suit/evening wear is recommended.

How is the climate in November in Auckland?

November in Auckland is known to be sunny and pleasant with average temperatures between 13°C - 20°C (55 - 68°F). Rainfall is low but evenings can be quite brisk as temperatures drop quickly.

Can I bring extra guests to the social functions?

Yes, extra tickets to both the Welcome Reception and the Conference Dinner can be purchased up until Friday 30 October 2020. You can select the additional tickets when registering for the conference.

Additional Welcome Reception tickets can be purchased for $TBA per ticket and additional Conference Dinner tickets can be purchased for $TBA per ticket.

Is there car parking available?

The Grand Millennium Auckland offers the below options for hotel guests (subject to space availability):

Self-Parking - $25 for 24 hours
Valet Parking - $50 for 24 hours

Grand Millennium Auckland is also equipped with an electric vehicle charger located on level 5 of the hotel's carpark. Electric vehicles that are valet parked at the hotel can be charged overnight for no extra cost.

How do I register for the conference?

Registrations are accepted via the register page on this website. Please click on the link below to be redirected to the registration page.

When does Early Bird registration end?

Early Bird Registration fees are available up until Friday 28 August 2020.

What is the cut-off date to register online?

Late Registration fees are available from Tuesday 6 October through until Friday 30 October 2020.
Registration will be available onsite after this date at the late registration prices.

I need to cancel; is there a cancellation policy?

Delegates who find themselves unable to attend the conference after submitting a registration form are most welcome to nominate a substitute. In the case of a cancellation, delegates must inform Consec - Conference and Event Management in writing of their inability to attend. A refund of the registration fee, less a cancellation fee of $110.00 (AUD$) including GST will be made on or before 5 October 2020.

NO refunds will be made to anything after 5 October 2020.

All refunds prior to 5 October 2020 will be made after the conference. Any changes made to a registration within seven (7) days of the conference will incur a $40.00 administrative fee.

Will my details be published in the delegate list?

In registering for this conference, relevant details will be incorporated into a delegate list for the benefit of all delegates (name and organisation only - in accordance with the Australian National Privacy Act), and may be made available to parties directly related to the conference including Consec - Conference and Event Management, the Conference Organising Committee, venues and accommodation providers (for the purposes of room bookings and conference options), key sponsors (subject to strict conditions) and parties associated with related conferences.

If you do not wish your details to be published in the delegate list please tick the "privacy required" box on the first page of the registration form.

What security is available for online payments?

In the event of the venue becoming unusable or other circumstances or the need to cancel the conference, there can be no liability on the 4th Laryngology Society of Australasia Conference 2020 or the organisers.

Do I need to wear a name badge?

Your name badge is your entry to the 4th Laryngology Society of Australasia Conference sessions and trade exhibition.

If you misplace your name badge, please see the Consec - Conference and Event Management staff at the registration desk for a replacement.

No Smoking Policy?

Smoking is prohibited inside the conference venue and all hotels. All buildings are 100% non-smoking. Most restaurants and bars are smoke free as well. Please contact the conference venue for more information about where to smoke at the venue.

We endeavour to ensure delegates attending the conference with specific needs are catered for.

Do I need personal insurance?

Delegates shall be regarded in every aspect as carrying their own risk for loss or injury to persons or property, including baggage during the 4th Laryngology Society of Australasia Conference.

We strongly recommend that at the time of booking your travel and tours you take out a travel insurance policy of your choice.

The policy should include the loss of deposit through cancellation, medical insurance, loss or damage to personal property, financial loss incurred through disruptions to accommodation or travel arrangements due to strikes or other industrial action.

The organisers are in no way responsible for any claims concerning insurance.
